Let’s talk tarot, or as I like to call it, “Tinder for the soul.” As a card-carrying member of the single women’s club (pun absolutely intended), I’ve found myself drawn to the mystical, somewhat mysterious world of tarot readings. Now, I’m not exactly what you’d call a hardcore believer, nor am I a skeptic. I’m more of a tarot tourist – I like to visit, but I don’t necessarily live there.
So, why tarot, you ask? Well, for starters, it’s like having a chat with a friend who’s incredibly vague, but oddly insightful. There’s something undeniably comforting about shuffling those cards, watching them lay out a path, a possible future, a ‘what-if’ scenario. It’s like peeking into a cosmic script written just for you, albeit in very cryptic handwriting.
The beauty of tarot, at least for me, isn’t in some steadfast belief that these cards are the GPS for my life. Rather, it’s in the idea of possibility. Who knows, right? Maybe the stars are aligning, maybe fate is winking at me, or maybe it’s just a really good story. Either way, it’s a win.
So I’m sitting across from a tarot reader, the air smells like incense and mystery, and there’s a card saying ‘The Lovers’ staring back at me. Now, part of me is thinking, “Well, hello there, is Mr. Right about to waltz into my life?” But the other, slightly more rational part, is like, “Hmm, maybe it just means I’ll fall in love with a new Netflix series.”
And let’s be real, sometimes the cards are about as clear as my grandmother’s soup. I mean, pull the ‘Death’ card and you could think, “Yikes, that’s ominous.” But in tarot-speak, it’s all about change or transformation. So, maybe it’s just telling me to finally clean out my closet and let go of that dress from 2005.
The point is, tarot readings, for me, are a bit like horoscopes. They’re fun, sometimes eerily accurate, and they give you something to think about, something to hope for. In a world where swiping right is the norm, and the question “Why are you still single?” is as common as bad coffee, believing in the magic of tarot cards adds a bit of spice to life.
So, I’ll keep enjoying my casual dates with the tarot deck. It’s a little bit of mystery, a dash of hope, and a whole lot of “Hey, you never know.” And who knows, maybe one day those cards will tell me that adventure is knocking at my door, or at the very least, that a good hair day is in my future. Either way, I’m game.
